Egersund Net is part of AKVA group. Egersund Net started net production in the early 1970ies and was turned into a separate company in 1996.
Since then, Egersund Net has established itself as one of Europe’s leading suppliers of seine nets and services for the fish farming business. Net-Reg is a webbased log of history ,checklists and documentation of fish farming nets and mooring. With this tool fish farmers have full control of their locations and status of the technical equipment. By internal and external audits this tool is used to present construction certificates, drawings and documentation for components in the entire system.

The copper ratio in the wastewater from our facilities is lower than the mandatory limits set by the authorities. Besides lower copper ratio, we monitor and make sure that the discharge is free of pathogens.
Two types of waste are removed during the cleaning process; one contains sludge waste and the other is coarse waste. The sludge waste is sent for copper recycling and the organic waste is sent to approved partner for incineration.

Egersund Net has produced fish farming nets since the early 1970ies.
Over the last years Egersund Net has expanded greatly with regard to business volume as well as the number of newly established subdivisions.
From the modest start in Svanavågen, Egersund, the company now has a number of service departments along the coast of Norway (Egersund, Austevoll, Manger, Kristiansund, Rørvik, Brønnøysund, Vevelstad, Andenes og Skjervøy) while the production of new nets takes place in the Lithuanian town Tauragé. Each of our subdivisions also keeps various types of special nets, such as roof and container nets, in store for speedy delivery.
Recently Egersund Net has established a special fish farming gear shop, at Rabben in the municipality of Austevoll, offering a rich assortment of goods, such as work clothes, HSE gear, chains and mooring equipment.
At present Egersund Net is firmly established as a safe supplier and market leader with regard to seine net technology, services and equipment for the fish farming business.

All our service stations have a high standard of waste handling and preventing infections, with results surpassing the demands of the authorities.
Use of «dirty» and «clean» zones in the washing process for nets as well as disinfecting nets after washing and all transport vehicles, help safeguard the environment.
Waste is processed by a treatment plant that separates copper and other metals for recycling, while organic waste is shipped off for incineration. Finally, all water is filtered with ozone equipment for a pathogen-free release.
Egersund Net is one of Nofir's suppliers. The company's service departments along the Norwegian coast sends discarded nets and other waste for recycling.
- Before shipment, the equipment is beeing washed and disinfected. In 2020, more than 1,700 tonnes of farmed equipment sent from our service stations. Environmental savings of this corresponds to the reduction of more than 5,700 tons of CO2 equivalents.

Reducing lice problems and improving fish perfomance with deep farming.
For several years AKVA group has been developing deep farming technology. The principle is to separate salmon and lice by lowering the biomass below the upper meters in the sea where the salmon lice are located. Deep farming can also open new areas for aquaculture. In 2021, AKVA group succeeded in developing three different concepts to a new level: Tubenet™, Atlantis and Nautilus The scientific results from the Atlantis Subsea Farming (Atlantis) project showed that the salmon lice challenges can be significantly reduced.
