The development of land-based fish farming is important to meet the market growing demand for salmon in a sustainable manner. AKVA group is the world’s leading supplier of land-based solutions and we have recently won a new contract of 40 MEUR in China. Main responsibilities in this role are to support project governance activities and ensure project progress in accordance with risk management, project goals, deadlines, and budgets.
You will report to Business Area Controller - Land Based and work closely with project managers in the Land Based business area and accounting departments.
Work location will be at our modern head office at Klepp Næringspark, only a short 5-minute walk from Øksnevadporten train station, with parking for everyone, and brand-new gym/shower facilities.
Responsibilities and tasks
- Monthly financial reporting and closing
- Assist project managers with invoicing, budgets, and forecasts
- Make sure that projects are assessed financially correctly in relation to progress, cost, and revenue recognition
- Proactively identify commercial risks and implement mitigating measures together with project managers
- Contribute to compliance with processes and project governance and follow up deviations
- Support project manager on contractual elements such as variation orders
- Arrange regular status meetings to improve project efficiency and margin
- Identify areas for improvement and development of processes and systems and contribute in the realization of the improvements
- Actively participate in the company's digitization initiative, implementation projects for new IT systems and processes as needed
Qualifications and background
- Some years of relevant experience, with good accounting and business understanding.
- Higher financial education is desired, but longer experience can compensate for lack of formal education.
- Good computer skills, with experience from ERP systems, Excel, and Power BI
- Good oral and written communication and presentation skills, in both Norwegian and English
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Takes initiative and is dedicated to deliver good results
- Service-minded and good collaboration skills
